CPS Test
A CPS test counts how many times you click in a fixed time and divides by the seconds. Pick 1, 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds, then click the box as fast as you can: the timer starts with your first click. Your best score for each time and button is saved in this browser only.
How it works
Point at the grey box and use your mouse there. The page reads your browser’s mouse events and never sends them anywhere.
These tests need JavaScript. The explanations below work without it.
Made for a real mouse. On a phone or tablet, only the click speed test works with touch. In Firefox and Safari a side button may still go back a page; the page tries to stop that.

How to do it
- Choose a time: 1, 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds.
- Choose left, right or any button.
- Click the box as fast as you can; the timer starts on the first click.
- Read your CPS, your best score and the clicks per second over time.
Click techniques
- Normal clicking: one finger, wrist resting. Easy to keep up for 30 or 60 seconds.
- Jitter clicking: tensing the arm so the finger vibrates. Fast for short bursts but tiring; stop if it hurts.
- Butterfly clicking: two fingers alternating on one button.
- Drag clicking: dragging a finger across the button so friction makes it bounce.
Very high scores in a short test can come from a mouse that double clicks on its own. If your score jumps suddenly, run the double click test.
Frequently asked questions
How is CPS calculated?
CPS is the number of clicks divided by the length of the test in seconds. 50 clicks in 10 seconds is 5.0 CPS. The timer starts on your first click, so reaction time does not lower the score.
What is a good CPS?
There is no official standard, and results depend on technique, mouse and test length. A fair comparison is with yourself: use the same time and button each time. Short tests give higher scores than 30 or 60 second tests.
Does a CPS test work on a phone?
Yes. Taps on a touch screen count as clicks, so you can measure taps per second on a phone or tablet. Results are not directly comparable with a mouse, because tapping uses different fingers and movements.
Is my best score saved?
Yes, but only in your own browser on this device, using local storage. Nothing is sent to a server and there is no public ranking. Clearing site data in your browser deletes the saved scores.
Can clicking fast damage my mouse?
Mouse switches are made for millions of clicks, but heavy jitter or drag clicking adds wear and can lead to double clicking sooner. Hard techniques can also strain your hand, so take breaks.
